Our Disney Adventure – Day One

We headed out of the house about 5:15 am with the van full of everything we might possibly need for a week.  We checked in our two big bags and headed to security with 3 kids, a stroller, 2 car seats, and three carry on bags.  Honestly, I think this is the most dreaded part of the trip, but it wasn’t too bad at our small local airport, wish I could say the same for Orlando on the way back.

The flight was pretty uneventful, Brenna was a little fussy for about 30-40 minutes.  When we arrived in Orlando it was a bit trickier.  We now had all the carry on stuff, the two car seats, pushing the stroller, and two additional bags….in the Florida heat.  We thought our rental car was off site but we had a nice surprise and they had just moved on terminal, saving us the shuttle ride.  There was some concern it wouldn’t all fit in the car, but we ended up with a Ford Taurus and we had plenty of room.  Car seat installation was a bit trickier, Ed was dripping with sweat after about 20 minutes of trying to get those seats in.

Finally we were on our way, we took a quick stop at the grocery store and for lunch, then on to the hotel.  It was still about 11am with a check in time of late afternoon, but they had a room ready for us and they met all of our requests too.  We were staying at the All Star Movies, which I was warned were really small rooms.  There was plenty of room for us and two pack and plays.  We got arranged and then went over to the Magic Kingdom just on time for the parade.

Brenna and Liam were pretty excited to see the castle.

Braeden just wanted ice cream.

Brenna was wearing an Ariel outfit my mom had made her and when Ariel came by on her float, she waved at us and pointed at Brenna and said, “I like your shirt”.  Brenna was in awe of Ariel and all the other princesses.

We headed to the Buzz Lightyear ride first for Braeden, and then on to Fantasyland.  We were able to go on most of the rides there and then headed out to dinner.  After dinner we went to Ariel’s Grotto for a meet and greet with Ariel.  This was about 4-5 hours after the parade, when we got there Ariel said to Brenna, “I remember you, I saw you at the parade, I liked your clothes.”  Brenna was just smiling ear to ear.

After we were finished, we went to find a letterbox (similar to geocaching without the GPS) that we found online that was hidden at Pooh’s Playful Spot.  When you find it, there is  a stamp inside and you stamp it in a book full of all the different letterboxes you have found.

The little ones fell asleep in the car on the way home, which made for an easy bedtime….no fighting, climbing out of bed, etc.

I can't wait to hear more! I was thinking of you last week and hoping you were having a good trip! How neat for Ariel to remember Brenna!! Sarah has proclaimed her love for Jasmine lately...

Jasmine is the only princess she didn't get to meet. She met Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Aurora, Snow White, Pochahontas, Mulan, and even the new one Tiana.

Last night she put on her butterfly costume and said she was going to fly back to see Jasmine.
