Today we went to the Potter Park Zoo. This is one of my favorite zoos around. Detroit Zoo is nice, but usually very crowded and for little ones its hard to get up and close to the animals.
Our favorites:
BRAEDEN’S FAVORITE
The penguins! He kept bugging us and bugging us, he wanted to go straight to the penguins.
LIAM’S FAVORITE
The tiger! He refused to leave the tiger house, we would leave the building and he wound turn around and go back, and leave and go back. Finally I decided it might be time to get back in the stroller.

Sneaking back to see the tigers one more time, little stinker!
BRENNA’S FAVORITE
The COW’S! Okay….so they aren’t cows, but to Liam and Brenna the black and white goats looked like cows, they were yelling “COW, COW”. They also like the whole farm area. The rooster would have been Brenna’s favorite…but he was hiding on her. He kept cock-a-doodle-dooing and she would do it back, but she was getting frustrated when she couldn’t find him.
Here is a cute video of the kids with the “COWGOAT”.....OOPS! Somehow it ended up at the very bottom of the blog, check in out at the end.
And a few more faves
I love this peacock, it was my fave!
And no trip to Potter Park Zoo is complete without a little bit of time in the park….to run off steam before the long ride home
Then time to go home…..always a fun ride! Funny thing is the first kid to sleep in the car was Braeden, then Brenna, and Liam decided to stay up the whole hour ride.

Glad you were able to make it! Looks like a nicer day today than when we went last week - TOO hot and TOO crowded! We'll pick a quieter day (hopefully) next time! Love how excited they were at the barnyard! Jacob loved the lions, too - he pointed right to them and said "Roar!"
Your zoo pictures look like fun! That kangaroo pictures is a crack-up :). Makes me want to take my two to the zoo, but it's SO hot I think we'll wait. It looked a little overcast for you guys, I bet that was nice!
-Sorry to hear about your aunt helen :(
Looks like everyone had fun!
Too hilarious that Jack and Quent called the goats "cows" too at first! You are right, must be the black and white coloring.
we would have loved to play on the playground, but as Barb said it was TOO CROWDED (and hot and humid) to get anywhere near it! Next time for sure!
The 'cows' are sooo funny!! What a cool zoo. It's nice to be able to just wander and not feel the pressure of the crowds. Looks like all the kids had a lot of fun! Liam is tall!!
I love Potter Park zoo! I used to live within a couple miles of there, and drove by every day on my way to work. They have a festival of lights every Christmas, don't they?
Glad you had fun...makes me excited for someday.
That looks like so much fun. I'm glad you reminded me of the zoo. My big guy is gone this week and it is just me and little guy. He would love going to the zoo.
